Some Great News and the SIXTH Important Update 2020 CWSA Global Competition Schedule

Getting restless? We are, so the CWSA decided it’s time for some great news.     Even though many CWSA events this spring and early summer have been postponed, the CWSA is excited to announce the 2020 Online WRS Series, Event #1.     Keep an eye out for the specific details to be announced by email and on the CWSA Instagram and Facebook pages in the very near future.   Most Recent Postponements and cancellations   The health and safety of all CWSA members, athletes, families, event organizers, event volunteers, event spectators and event communities are of the highest priority for the CWSA.   The ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic has caused State of Emergency declarations by many national, regional and local governments.    These State of Emergency declarations have included within nation, regional and international travel restrictions and travel advisories. Travel restrictions may include quarantine periods upon entering or returning from a nation, region or locality.  These travel restrictions and advisories are subject to change with limited, or in some cases, no prior notice.   The State of Emergency declarations have also impacted the availability of public services in many jurisdictions.   The World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) have issued various public health guidelines for the protection of communities, participants, and spectators at sporting and other events.   Many national, regional and local governments have imposed these public health guidelines as requirements for sports events and event venues.  These restrictions include event participant size limitations, social distancing standards and other protocols.   Because of these developments the CWSA, in consultation with the event organizers, announces the postponement of the following events:   Supra PWT # 1 August Lakes, Katy, TX (Silver Level) Postponed from 5/29/2020 – 5/30/2020 to a date to be determined.   SARATOV WAKESURF CUP Volga River, Saratov, Russia (Bronze Level)  Postponed from 6/6/2020 – 6/7/2020 to a date to be determined.   Kyusyu Wake Surfing Festa 2020 by STONE MARKET Hakata Bay, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan (Bronze Level)  Postponed from 6/7/2020 to a date after September 2020 to be determined.   2020 Wake Surfing Korea Open Han River, Seoul, Korea (Gold Level) This event on 6/13/2020 – 6/14/2020 is cancelled.   Kyiv City Swell Desenka River, Kyiv, Ukraine (Gold Level) Postponed from 6/26/2020 – 6/27/2020 to a date to be determined.   Wrangle the Wave Chestermere Lake, Calgary Alberta, Canada (Gold Level) Postponed from 7/18/2020 – 7/19/2020 to a date to be determined   Carolina Wake Surf Open Fueled by Monster Energy Lake Norman, North Caroline (Platinum Level) This event on 7/24/2020 – 7/25/2020 is cancelled.     As a reminder, following events have previously been postponed:   YANMAR WAKE SURFING COMPETITION 2020 Lake Biwa, Shiga, Japan (Gold Level)  Postponed from 5/23/2020 – 5/24/2020 to a date to be determined.   KING OF WAKESURF 2020 Iseo Lake, Predore, Italy (Bronze Level)  Postponed from 5/22/2020 – 5/24/2020 to 9/11/2020-9/13/2020   Clarks Hill Wakesurf Open Clarks Hill Lake, GA, USA (Silver Level)  Postponed from 5/16/2020 – 5/17/2020 to a date to be determined.   X-CUBE CUP 2020 Edo River, Ichikawa, Japan (Gold Level) Postponed from 5/16/2020 – 5/17/2020 to 9/5/2020-9/6/2020   Mass Star Wakesurf Competition 2020 Deep Water Bay, Hong Kong SAR (Platinum Level)  Postponed from 5/9/2020 – 5/10/2020 to 8/29/2020-8/30/2020   Arizona Wakesurf Championship Series – Arizona Open Lake Pleasant, AZ, USA (Gold Level)  Postponed from 4/17/2020 – 4/18/2020 to a date to be determined. All athlete event registration fees for this event will be refunded.   The Wildwest Wakesurf Shootout Lake Pleasant, AZ, USA (Gold Level)  Postponed from 4/03/2020 – 4/04/2020 to a date to be determined. All athlete event registration fees for this event will be refunded.   Tribe X Wakesurf Championship 2020 Persian Gulf, Dubai, UAE (Gold Level)  Postponed from 4/10/2020 – 4/11/2020 to a date to be determined. All athlete event registration fees for this event will be refunded.   The 1st Wake Surfing Competition in Penang Straits Quay Marina Mall and Marina, Penang Island, Malaysia (Silver Level) Postponed from 3/22/2020 to an October 2020 date to be determined.   We continue to remain optimistic that this world health crisis will be successfully resolved in the very near future.   The CWSA will continue to closely monitor developments and inform you as relevant information becomes available.   Check out our website and our Facebook page and let us know which events you plan on attending this season!   Reminder: You must be a current CWSA Athlete to compete in our events.
