Wake surf events do not happen without qualified volunteer judge team members for events, and if you’ve ever been to a live event, you know that judge volunteers are always needed. Not just warm bodies, but trained and qualified judges.
The Continental Championship events (the Asian, European and North American Championship) are right around the corner, August 13-15.
Each of these events is a Gold level event, and each event satisfies the event attendance criteria to qualify to be invited to the World Wake Surfing Championship. The events are ‘mandatory attendance’ events to qualify to be invited to Worlds this year. If you do not attend one of the three Championships, you will not qualify to be invited to Worlds, regardless of your ranking.
There are a sufficient number of judge training seminars scheduled in July so that anyone interested in hosting a module for one of the Continental Championship events can be trained and become qualified to do so.
Are you in the US or Canada? Were you disappointed that you couldn’t compete in the last Gold level Module event because there was not enough space at a Module? Are you worried that you will not be able to find a Module to compete in the North American Championship in order to qualify for a Worlds invitation?
If so, you can do something about it. Get together with your friends, take the training seminars, and host a Module.
Your membership will be good through this year’s World Wake Surfing Championship.
Simply hit the ‘Upgrade Your Account’ tab in your profile to pay for a new membership and update your profile through the current season.
