The end of the 2019 season is quickly coming to a close which means it is time to start thinking about the end of the year awards! At 5 P.M. EDT, you will see an Award Nominations Tab in your profile! EDT, but in the mean time… Below is a comprehensive list of Awards that will be offered this year: 1. Legend Award (Life time achievement): A person who has consistently contributed in a meaningful way to competitive wakesurfing for a minimum of 10 years through competing, coaching, video/photography, promotion of the sport, innovation, events, and/or organizationally. 2- WakeSurfing Person of the Year: The person who has provided the greatest overall contribution and/or impact to the sport of competitive wakesurfing for the current year. 3.-Wakesurfing video of the year: Best edited video of an individual, group of people, team or event presented during the current competition year. The video may include lifestyle, action, music, etc. (no unsafe actions permitted). The video link must be provided. 4- Best Maneuver (Male and Female): Innovative, never seen before, never done before, or exceptionally well executed (the maneuver must be on video and link must be provided). 5- Up and Coming Athlete of the Year (Male and Female): The most exciting new rider or existing rider who has shown the greatest improvement and/or potential to impact competitive wakesurfing. 6- Rider of the year (Male and Female): The rider who has competed at the highest level of competition during the year, and to a lesser extend, has contributed to competitive wakesurfing in its promotion, sportsmanship, mentoring/coaching, innovation and progression. 7- Junior athlete of the Year: The most exciting young rider (under 12 years old as Jan 1st) who has shown the greatest improvement during the competition year and the best attitude/sportsmanship in competition. 8- Event of the year: The Event was well organized for all competitive aspects. Judge and volunteer were assignments clear. Good wave. The Event location was well planned, body of water deep enough, there were fun or interesting activities in addition to Wakesurfing. Food or catering was available at the event, or close by. Dining and lodging close to the venue. Other factors that made the event extraordinarily fun, such as nightlife, event format, location, scenery or people? 9- Event organizer of the year: Before the Event: Hit each deadline the CWSA has set forth (Contract Date, Opening of Registration, created a well thought out Rider Running Order and Event Format, and correctly sets up Scoring Toolbox.o During the Event: Demonstrated proficiency in Scoring Toolbox use, timely with posting results onsite or to competitivewakesurfing.com. Ensures all judges and volunteers understand when and where their duties will be held. o After the Event: Uploads Results to competitivewakesurfing.com as soon as the event ends, uploads photos to our OneDrive and competitivewakesurfing.com within a few days of the event, has a highlight video created and posted. o Overall hosts a fun event on and off the water that represents the CWSA and wakesurfing as a sport in a positive manner for athletes, families and spectators |
